I have journeyed through CMCSS since my family was stationed here my 6th grade year. After I graduated, I earned my B.S in Mathematics with a minor in education from Austin Peay State University. I have been in the education system since 2011 as a math educator and an educational assistant. I absolutely have a passion for building learning skills and helping children reach their full potential. It is my goal this year that my students discover their abilities to tackle challenges and never give up in math class and beyond.

I will be using the REMIND APP this year to keep in touch with parents/guardians and students outside of school. The app will allow me to keep you up-to-date on classroom events and enable us to text one another in one convenient location.
There are two ways of joining my class:

1) Text “@kmsrich” to 81010
2) Email kmsrich@mail.remind.com

*Cell phones are NOT permitted in class, hallways, etc. at Kenwood Middle School. They will need to be placed in your locker at the beginning of the day and retrieved from your locker at the end of the day to take home.

Homework Policy

Your child will have homework at least four days out of each week. It will always consist of a maximum of twelve problems that must be solved while showing ALL work in PENCIL.

Make-Up Work

If you are absent, it will be your responsibility to retrieve your missing assignment(s) from my absent bin, complete them, and turn them in to your specific period's slot by the due date.

ALL notes will be uploaded to the “Math Notebook” link in Google Classroom. If you do not have internet access at home, login to GC during Homeroom/WIN and record the missing notes in your math notebook.

Materials

You are required to have the following items WITH you when you arrive to class each day. If you are unable to purchase any of these items, please let me know and we can make arrangements using PBIS reward points (Kenwood Cash).

  • Paper & Pencils with eraser (more than one pencil/mechanical are permitted)
  • Folder to keep homework in and transport to home and return to school the next day
  • Composition Notebook- ALWAYS A MUST

I will be rewarding Kenwood Cash through PBIS Rewards system. "PBIS Rewards is an affordable schoolwide PBIS management system that assists schools in their Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support program. The multi-device platform makes it easy to continuously recognize students for meeting behavior expectations from anywhere in the school, not just the classroom. " With these rewards students are able to redeem their Kenwood Cash through the Kenwood Concession Stand when it is open. You can also access your students PBIS information in the link below.
